How CamChief Reviews and Verifies Adult Cam Sites
This page documents the editorial method behind CamChief's reviews and comparisons. It exists so a reader can tell exactly how any CamChief claim was produced.
What CamChief evaluates
Our reviews and comparisons cover the decisions a viewer faces before paying: whether public viewing is genuinely free, how billing works (tokens, credits or fixed-value currency), what private shows cost and how minimums are charged, whether Cam2Cam is supported and under what conditions, what memberships include, and what each platform's rules say about accounts, privacy and billing descriptors. We evaluate platforms, not individual performers, and we do not rate performer attractiveness or make demographic promises.
Our evidence labels
Every decision-critical fact carries one of three labels:
- Hands-on tested — a CamChief operator performed the action under the brand and a dated test record exists: what was done, on which platform, under which account conditions, with what result and which limitations. We publish this label only where that record exists.
- Checkout verified — a price or billing step was observed at the platform's actual checkout on the stated date. Prices change, so checkout-verified figures always carry their observation date.
- Official documentation verified — the claim comes from the platform's own current documentation, terms, help centre or public interface, checked on the stated date. Documentation describes a platform's rules; it does not guarantee enforcement, availability or a specific experience.
Where the only source is the platform's own marketing and we could not independently confirm it, the claim is qualified inline as a platform claim — it is never presented as a verified fact or given a trust badge.
How third-party evidence is handled
We sometimes cite external evidence — for example performer-reported experience from community sources — as dated, attributed context. Third-party testimony is always labelled as external, linked as an ordinary source, and never relabelled as a CamChief test. Where an external source and a platform's own documentation disagree, we report the disagreement rather than picking the more convenient number.
How prices and features are dated
Token prices, bundle contents, membership fees, payout rules and feature availability change without notice. Every such fact on CamChief carries the date it was checked, and expired verification triggers a re-check rather than a silent refresh of the year in a title. If we cannot verify a current price, we say the price is unverified — we do not quote a historical figure as if it were current.
How conflicting evidence is treated
When two sources conflict — including two of a platform's own pages — we keep both values marked as contradicted in our internal fact registry and either disclose the conflict on the page or omit the figure entirely. We never resolve a conflict by repeating the claim until it looks established. Examples currently disclosed on the site include conflicting per-minute floors and membership prices on major platforms, which our reviews flag rather than quote.
What CamChief does not claim to have tested
CamChief's current published reviews are documentation-based. We did not purchase tokens, book private shows or run multi-device account tests for the current review set, and no CamChief page should be read as claiming otherwise. Older versions of some reviews contained testing language we could not evidence; that language has been removed wherever we found it, and its removal is recorded in our change log. If a future review includes hands-on testing, the test record will be dated and described on the page.
Affiliate relationship and editorial limits
CamChief earns commissions from some outbound links, disclosed next to the recommendations and in full on the affiliate disclosure page. The commercial relationship does not change the evidence: platforms cannot pay for a ranking, a commission never upgrades an evidence label, and documented drawbacks are published for every platform we recommend, including our commercial partners. Where an affiliate route is unavailable or loops back to our own review, we remove the call to action rather than send readers in circles — our Flirt4Free review currently has no merchant button for exactly this reason.
Update and re-verification policy
Reviews are re-checked in batches. Each refresh re-verifies volatile facts against current official pages before republication, records the check date on the page, and removes claims that can no longer be supported. A fact that cannot be re-verified is downgraded or deleted, not carried forward on reputation.
Corrections policy
If you spot an error — a price that changed, a feature that moved, a claim that overstates the evidence — tell us via the contact page. Substantive corrections are made in the content and reflected in the page's verification date. We treat corrections as part of the method, not as failures to hide.
Concrete examples of this method
- Cam4 vs Chaturbate: an older version of our Cam4 alternatives page stated the two platforms were the same website. They are not; the refreshed page corrects this explicitly with current official documentation.
- Sexier and FetishFix: legacy figures we could not verify — a 1996 founding date, a $0.98 per-minute rate, an 80,000-performer count and an "April 2026 testing" claim — were removed. The reviews now state what current public pages actually evidence.
- Chaturbate tokens: viewer token pricing is published only with its official source and check date; where bundle prices could not be confirmed, the page says so rather than quoting stale figures.
- Flirt4Free: unverified universal rates and signup-credit promises were removed, and the self-referring merchant button was taken down.
Sources and records
Each refreshed page lists its own sources. Our internal fact registry keeps the atomic claim, its source, the check date and its limitations for every decision-critical fact, so the page you read can be traced back to the evidence that produced it.
